India's road network is vast, ranking among the world's largest. Significant efforts have been made to modernize this infrastructure, with a focus on expanding and improving national highways and expressways. However, road quality varies considerably across the country.

While major highways are seeing substantial upgrades, challenges remain, including: Maintenance: Consistent maintenance is crucial, and variations in quality are often linked to inadequate upkeep. Rural Roads: Connecting rural areas remains a priority, and the quality of these roads can significantly impact local economies.        Urban Congestion: Rapid urbanization puts pressure on city roads, leading to congestion and wear.

Quality of construction: The government is pushing for higher standards in road construction, and is placing a larger emphasis on the quality of roads being built. The Indian government is actively addressing these issues through initiatives aimed at enhancing construction standards, improving maintenance practices, and expanding the overall road network
